Altbridge is a residential development of 33 no. houses and 24 no. flats for affordable rent. The dwellings will be developed on a vacant site which had previously housed 3 tower blocks. The site is at the edge of the Stonedale estate in Croxteth and sits adjacent to the busy East Lancashire Road.
The scheme provides much needed family homes for the area ranging from 1 bedroom flats to 4 bedroom houses. The dwellings have been designed to meet the M4(2) accessibility requirements of the building regulations with some properties achieving the higher M4(3) specification. National space standards will also be achieved meaning that the homes will have generous floor areas.
The design creates attractive cul-de-sacs with ones of them including a pedestrian link to the bus stop on the East Lancashire Road which the Stonedale estate will benefit from.
The design provides modern dwellings utilising brick elevations and accent window frames, which blend in with the palette of existing nearby materials. All units incorporate in-curtilage parking spaces.
A landscaped buffer surrounding the site has been retained and will be enhanced as part of the site works and will improve the visual amenity whilst also providing a noise buffer.
Landscaping within the site includes trees and shrubs selected from predominantly native species. The external landscaping and planting enhances the streetscape and provides attractive private garden areas and communal areas.
