Works are progressing well on site with the construction of Bangor’s new primary school at Ysgol Y Garnedd, Penrhosgarnedd. The 420 place school for Cyngor Gwynedd utilises a steel frame construction with coated metal composite panels and stone cladding, and provides two storeys of classroom accommodation wrapped around a central courtyard play space.

Construction works were paused due to COVID-19 in March and April but main contractor Read Construction were able to reopen the site shortly afterwards, following the introduction of a range of site specific health and safety protocols in accordance with Welsh Government guidance to ensure workplace safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The school is due for completion later this year.
