AGA scored a hat-trick at the LABC North Wales Building Excellence Awards last Friday 19th May at St. David’s Hotel in Ewloe, winning three awards for our involvement in both residential and commercial projects.

Simon Venables, director of the Hawarden Branch, attended the event with colleagues from Gareth Morris Construction (GMC) and Grŵp Cynefin (pictured above) to receive the award for Best Housing Developer for 10-20 Dwellings with Gwynedd Council. Our affordable housing scheme at Station Road, Bethesda was an impressive collaboration delivered during the pandemic on a challenging brownfield site, and is now shortlisted for the National Welsh LABC Cymru Awards!

In another success of the evening, the refurbishment of the Crown Buildings won Best Large Commercial Project with Wrexham County Borough Council. AGA worked collaboratively with Read Construction to refurbish the obsolete council offices in Wrexham town centre, improving their energy efficiency and appearance.

Lastly, the new apartment scheme for Adra at Plas Farrar in Bangor won Best Volume Housing Developer with Gwynedd Council. In collaboration with Wynne Construction, the project is a modern, state-of-the-art residential development with discreet undercroft parking situated in the heart of the city.

Many congratulations to GMC Group, who invited us to join them at the ceremory, and to Read Construction, Wynne Construction, our valued clients at Grŵp Cynefin, Adra, Clwyd Alyn and to all those who participated in the delivery. Congratulations also to Dewi Hughes for winning the Site Manager award. Thank you to LABC for their involvement and for showcasing these projects. We’re proud to have been part of the team for each project and enjoyed collaborating with you all. Cheers!
