Project Overview
Following the successful completion of works on-site, we are pleased to announce the handover of this specialist new-build home in Carmarthenshire to First Choice Housing Association (FCHA). The project involved the regeneration of a redundant agricultural site, replacing an empty cow shed with a modern, inclusive property designed to provide a high level of independence for its new occupants.

The handover marks the culmination of a technical design process focused on delivering a fully wheelchair-accessible environment that balances specialist care requirements with domestic comfort and high environmental performance.

Occupancy & Performance
Designed with a “fabric-first” approach and kitted with a solar PV array, the home exceeds the Welsh Government target for EPC A. Now that the keys have been handed over, the tenants benefit from an ultra-efficient living environment with significantly reduced long-term energy costs.

The internal layout was meticulously planned to ensure full accessibility throughout, allowing the residents to move freely and safely. The transition from an underused brownfield site to a functioning, high-specification home demonstrates the value of thoughtful, small-scale regeneration in providing vital housing for those with specialist needs.

Functional Landscape
The handover also includes the completion of the communal outdoor spaces. The integrated sustainable drainage (SuDS) strategy is now fully established, featuring a raingarden with native, non-toxic planting and hedgerows. This functional landscape provides the occupants with a high-quality, private amenity space while ensuring the site manages surface water runoff effectively to protect the property and the wider area.
