Construction works are progressing well on site in Nefyn, where 14 new homes are being built for local people in collaboration with Grŵp Cynefin. The development includes 11 homes for social rent and 3 homes for intermediate rent.

The new homes comprise of a mixture of two and three-bed houses, one-bed apartments and a four-bed house. The dwellings are flexible, adaptable and meet the criteria for lifetime homes. A strong sense of place is created by generous public space and permeability is created across the site.

The scheme is being built by Williams Homes (Bala) Ltd using Modern Methods of Construction with panelised timber frames. The highly sustainable scheme enables ‘low carbon living’, with combustion free homes that embrace cutting-edge energy and drainage technology. The homes are designed with a fabric first approach to meet WG Part L 2025 targets and achieve an EPC A rating. Solar photovoltaic panels generate zero carbon energy, and there is zero onsite combustion as the homes have all electric systems, with a clear path to achieve net zero carbon in the future.
