Construction is progressing well on site at Ffordd Gethin, Betws-y-Coed, where a new residential development is being delivered for Grŵp Cynefin with support from the Welsh Government’s housing grant programme. The scheme will provide five high-quality, affordable homes for social rent, helping to meet identified local housing need.

The development comprises a mix of house types, including three 3-bedroom homes, one 2-bedroom home, and one larger 4-bedroom property. Each dwelling will benefit from secure private gardens and off-street parking, designed to support practical, family-friendly living.

The homes have been carefully designed to reflect the local character, featuring off-white rendered walls with stone-clad feature gables beneath natural slate roofs, ensuring the development sits comfortably within its surroundings.

Gareth Morris Construction Ltd is delivering the scheme using Modern Methods of Construction. The homes adopt a fabric-first approach to achieve high levels of energy efficiency and an EPC A rating. Sustainability is central to the project, with solar photovoltaic panels and air source heat pumps installed to reduce energy demand and running costs. The development promotes low-carbon living, with zero onsite combustion.
