Development Overview
Ainsley Gommon was approached by the client to renovate Bidston Coach-house for use as a family home. The building has been out of use for a number of years and is in need of structural repairs. The repair works and updates to the property are intended to future proof the historic property and are sympathetic to the existing building as a former coach-house.
The proposals include an extension to the ground floor to provide additional living space. Additionally there are three comfortable bedrooms to the first floor, along with office spaces and storage throughout the home.
The updates also include a landscaping scheme which incorporated the former Braehead Cottage site as a private garden. The client wished to retain the ‘wild planting’ in a way in which the garden can be maintained for use by the residents. The maintenance of external spaces improve the appearance of the site to visitors to establish this as a habited and secure space.
